Read More	Sybil Hughey Pursley Born: October 29, 1935 Died: December 16, 2015 Sybil Hughey Pursley, 80, formerly of 712 Railroad Avenue, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Peachtree Center. Born October 29, 1935 in Gaffney she was the former wife of Emuel “Sonny” Pursley of Hickory Grove, SC and the daughter of the late Albert Jones Hughey and Edna Davis Hughey. Sybil enjoyed making flower arrangements and cooking. She especially liked to bake cakes and banana pudding. She was the owner of “The County Inn Restaurant” built where Duke Power is located and was also located at the movie site for the “Abyss” after the Country Inn closed. She was a cook at the Peachtree Centre until her retirement. She was a graduate of Gaffney High School and attended many floral and cooking workshops. Sybil was a member of Sardis United Methodist Church. She is survived by her sisters, Helen McCluney and Betty Sanders of Gaffney and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Carl Edwin Hughey and Charles Wayne Hughey and an infant daughter, Lula Sherry Pursley. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, December 18, 2015 at Sardis United Methodist Church Cemetery with Mr. Ashby Blakely, Mr. Lynn Lawhon and Mr. Manfred Martin officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside. The family will be at their respective homes. An online guest register is available at www.blakelyfuneralhome.com.
