For several years the deceased did not have good health, but he still directed his business affairs. About a week before death came he felt more uncomfortable than usual, though he was not bedridden. He died suddenly on Saturday while his daughter, Mrs. Benoit Amirault, served him lunch. The deceased was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Augustin d’Eon. As a young man he was captain at the cod fishery off Cape Cod. For more than 20 years afterwards, he worked in the fish trade with his brother, and for a number of years he bought lobsters for the Consolidated Company at Abbott’s Harbour, where he had bought the establishment of Raymond N. d’Entremont. He leaves in mourning two sons, Adolphe of this village and Augustin of the paternal home; three daughters, Mrs. Donald d’Entremont (Jane Rose), Mrs. Alphonse d’Entremont (Nellie), of this village, and Mrs. Benoit Amirault (Madeline) of the paternal home; a brother, Charles of Upper West Pubnico; and a sister, Mrs. Louis Amirault of Yarmouth. The funeral service was held Sunday afternoon with a large attendance. Rev. Father Gideon of Saint Anne College officiated, and the pallbearers were Dr. J. LeBlanc, Louis A. d’Entremont, Jaques Laurent d’Entremont, John E. d’Eon, Stanislaus Pothier and Sylvester Amirault, all members of the C.M.B.A., an organization to which the deceased belonged.
