She graduated from Big Stone City High School,in Mn.in 1955, attended Concordia College at Moorhead and graduated with a degree in elementary education from Northern State College in Aberdeen, SD. She taught schools at Clinton, Minn.,Rapid City,SD.,and Granite Falls, Minn. She married William Edward Hanson on Sept.16,1961, in Ortonville. To this union two children were born, Catherine and Douglass. Sylvia and her husband and two children were killed in a private plane crash,Nov. 24,1982 on the way to Flagstaff, Ariz. to visit... Services for all four family members were held in Watertown at the Grace Lutheran church with burial at the New Hope cemetery, Hamlin, Co.
