She grew up in North Carolina and was united in marriage to Charles Anderson in 1928. They moved to Birdsview, Washington in 1952 before eventually settling in Sedro-Woolley. Our precious mother went to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 5:29 p.m. on July 25, 2013 at the age of 100 years, four months and one day. Her legacy left for us is one of boundless love and tender loving care. Her life was her family, all 132 of us. She made each of us feel special when we were with her. Mother's faith was the rock she built her life on and through many trials it never wavered, she shared it with everyone she met. She loved her flowers, cooking for her family, and taking cast away dolls making them over with hand sewn clothes and beautiful hair. Mother never gave up or discarded anyone or anything, she saw only the good in everyone and believed love could conquer all. Sylvia is survived by her ten children: Rebecca Mudgett, Kenneth (Jean), Alice Frizzell (Roy), Joan Gardinier (Keith), Mary Sego (Ron), Robert (Cheerie), Ted (Marlene), Gayle Ashbach (Dave), John (Janine), Ray (Debbie); 28 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren, and 40 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Hez Dills of Sedro-Woolley; sister, Annie Stiener (Al) of Mount Vernon, and Ruth Southard of Franklin, North Carolina. She is also survived by special friends, Myrtle Frisbee and Louise Buchanan and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; daughter, Margie Guffie; granddaughter, Gloria Guffie, and great-grandson, Jeremiah Johnson; her parents, Hezekiah and Hassie Dills; brothers, Elzia, Clifford, and Gordon Dills and sisters, Beulah Smith and Golda Burch. We owe a special "Thank you" to United General Hospital and Sedro-Woolley Life Care Center for the wonderful care and treatment of our Mother and to Mother's Pastor Harold Thornbrough of Valley Baptist Church for his caring support of the family. The family highly requests that memorials be made to the Valley Baptist Church, 710 John Liner Road, Sedro-Woolley, WA 98284. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at 11:00 am at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley, followed by a graveside service at the Lyman Cemetery.
