Description	:	MUSCATINE - Sylvia Irene Reeves, 87, formerly of Davenport, died early today, Wednesday, Oct. 30, 1996, at the Muscatine Care Center. A private service will be held Thursday, at the Trinity Episcopal Church. The Rev. Richard Simpson will officiate. The body was cremated, and will be inurned at the columbarium at the Trinity Episcopal church. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Sylvia Irene Reeves was born Feb. 18, 1909, in Frederic, Iowa, the daughter of John Walter and Martha Viola Duffey Reeves. She married Walt Whitmer in 1928 in Des Moines. They were divorced in 1945. She had resided in Davenport, until moving to Muscatine in 1990. She retired from Mercy Hospital in Davenport in 1975. She was a baptized and confirmed member of Trinity Episcopal Church, and a member of the Mercy Hospital Retirees Association. She enjoyed traveling and visiting her family. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Ret. Lt. Col. Merle E. and Barbara (Whitmer) Prinz of Georgetown, Texas, and William O. and Darlene (Whitmer) Oeter of Muscatine; four grandsons, Hans E. Prinz of Tijeras, N.M., Karl W. Prinz of Phoenix, Ariz., Erich L. Prinz of Ashburn, Va., William E. Oeter of Tipton; four great-granddaughters, one great grandson; one brother, Delmar Reeves of Minneapolis, Minn., one sister, Delzie Vancil of Woodhull, 111.; several nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Lila Keller of Illinois City, Ill.
