The Rev. John M DeBerg officiated at the services. Mrs. Sylvia Adams, daughter of James L. and Angeline Prouty Keys, was born at Winterset, Iowa, on February 26, 1878. Read More	Obit from Walnut Bureau Services were held last Friday, July 18, at the Presbyterian church in Walnut, for Mrs. Sylvia Adams, long-time resident of the community, who passed away at her home on July 15. The Rev. John M DeBerg officiated at the services. Mrs. Sylvia Adams, daughter of James L. and Angeline Prouty Keys, was born at Winterset, Iowa, on February 26, 1878. Her early life was spent in Jamison and Panora, Iowa. In 1893 she was united in marriage to Cauis M Stacy, who preceded her in death in 1906. To this union four children were born. Following her husband's death, she worked for several years at Panora as a long distance telephone operator. In 1909 she was united in marriage to George W. Adams, of Walnut and since that time has made her home in this vicinity. To this union three children were born, Mr. Adams preceded her in death on March 10, 1951. Mrs. Adams has been in failing health for many years but always managed to make a good Christian home for her family. In her earlier life she united with the Christian church at Panora and then later transferred her membership to the Presbyterian church in Walnut, of which she was an active member until illness confined her to her home. Mrs. Adams passed away at her home on Tuesday, July 15, 1952, reaching the age of 74 years, 4 months and 15 days. Two children preceded her in death, an infant son in 1910 and Leston in 1937. A brother, Bert Keys, also preceded her death. Surviving to mourn her death are: Mrs. Ruth Jacobsen of Harlan, Mr. Cecile Cole of Imperial, California, Mrs. Helen Johnson of North Hollywood, California, Wyland Adams at home, and Mrs. Margaret Murphy of Walnut; also, one brother, Carl Keys of Alhambra, California, ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, and a host of other near relatives and friends. Mrs. Cecile Cole of Imperial, California arrived by plane Tuesday morning, July 15, to be at the bedside of her mother. Pallbearers at the funeral were George Mertz, Albert Schirm, Melvin Bussow, Adolph Kay, Dr. W.B. Redman and Lee Rasmusson.
