Read More	The following is from "Memorial and Biographical Record of Turner, Lincoln, Union and Clay Counties, published in 1897. Tabor I. Way is successfully engaged as a grain grower and stock raiser, and his farm in Dolton Township, Turner County, is classed among the most desirable pieces of property in this part of the county. His father James Way, was born in Vermont of French descent, and was a sailor on the great lakes in his younger days. Eliza Walker, the mother of Tabor, was also a native of the Green Mountain State, where her father, David Walker, was born and raised. James and Eliza settled on a farm in Vermont after their marriage until 1850, when they removed to New York, and in 1863 they settled in Winneshiek County, IA, where they both passed from time to eternity. They were the parents of seven children. Tabor I. Way was born in Grand Isle County, VT, May 7, 1842, and is the youngest of the family now living. In his eighth year his parents removed to the Empire state, and there he was living when the Great War broke out. In 1864 he enlisted in company B. Sixth New York regiment, heavy artillery, and served until the close of hostilities, being honorably discharged in Albany, NY, in 1865. In 1869 he went west to Winneshiek County, IA, and located at Calmar, where he was employed by the C., M. & St. P. railroad for the following nine years. At the expiration of that time he came to Turner County, Dak. Ter., locating first at what is now Hurley, where he bought a claim and lived two years. In 1880 he purchased the place where he now resides and has since lived, which consists of 160 acres. The marriage of Tabor and Miss Mary Henderson, a native of New York and a daughter of Thomas and Mary (Bracey) Henderson, occurred Jul. 3, 1862, and their marriage has been blessed to them by the advent of nine living children; Charles D. of Sioux Falls, SD; Robert J. of Parker; Amy L., the wife of Frank Bialucha, of this township; Frederick E., at home; Wilbur W., a teacher in Grand Island, NE; Henry H., Thomas S., Asa A. and Ettie B. the last four at home. The deceased members of the family are Annie and Ralph.
