A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at Sardis Primitive Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A life-long resident of Rockingham County, Talmadge was born June 10, 1930, to the late Talmadge Franklin Vaughn, Sr. and Edna Earl Shelton Vaughn. He was a 1948 graduate of Madison High School. A life-long resident of Rockingham County, Talmadge was born June 10, 1930, to the late Talmadge Franklin Vaughn, Sr. and Edna Earl Shelton Vaughn. He was a 1948 graduate of Madison High School. He was a long time faithful member of Sardis Primitive Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Talmadge was the founder and owner of Vaughn Motors where he remained an active and productive part of the business. He loved the Lord, the church, and was most proud of his family and his faith. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. An avid reader, he also enjoyed crossword puzzles and driving his 1964 Mustang convertible which he spent 13 years restoring. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Ann Snyder. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jean Wilson Vaughn; sons, Talmadge Franklin "Frank" Vaughn and wife, Kelly, Todd Wilson Vaughn and wife, Lisa; daughter, Vicki Vaughn Boyer and husband, Richard; grandchildren, Lori Warren and her husband, Bradley, Bradford Gulla, Lauren Vaughn, Taylor Vaughn, Morgan Vaughn, Nick Vaughn; great-grandson, Vincent Warren, and a brother, Rev. Philip Vaughn and wife, Nancye. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m., Monday, at Colonial Funeral Home and all other times at the residence. Memorial may be made to Saris Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Todd Vaughn, 1022 Williams Road, Madison, NC 27025. Information from Colonial Funeral Home.
