Description	:	HUDSON-TED D. LEPLEY Sr., 80, of Hudson died Sunday, June 27, 2004, at 7:30 p.m. in DeKalb Memorial Hospital at Auburn. Mr. Lepley was an auto mechanic and auto body shop owner. He was drafted into the U.S. Army Air Force on Feb. 22, 1943, at the age of 18 and served until January 1946. He participated in the Rome Arno Battle in Southern France and the air offensive over Japan on Ryukus Island. He was stationed in Italy, Sardinia, Corsica and Okinawa, Japan. LEPLEY Sr., 80, of Hudson died Sunday, June 27, 2004, at 7:30 p.m. in DeKalb Memorial Hospital at Auburn. Mr. Lepley was an auto mechanic and auto body shop owner. He was drafted into the U.S. Army Air Force on Feb. 22, 1943, at the age of 18 and served until January 1946. He participated in the Rome Arno Battle in Southern France and the air offensive over Japan on Ryukus Island. He was stationed in Italy, Sardinia, Corsica and Okinawa, Japan. While in the military, he drove trucks that took pilots and gunners to their planes. He also drove high-ranking military officials to their destinations. He was born May 8, 1924, in Ashley to Guy C. and Gladys (Spangler) Lepley. On Jan. 15, 1949, he married Violet Rowe. She survives. Also surviving are a son of Butler; two daughters and sons-in-law; four sisters, Sharon Miller of Pleasant Lake, Joyce Myers of Rocky River, Ohio, Wanita Tagtmeyer of Fremont and Karen Dilley of Monticello; five brothers, Walter, DeWayne, Bud, Richard and Jim Lepley, all of Ashley; three grandsons; and four granddaughters. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Penny M. Herber, in 1996, and two brothers, Udell and Lynn Lepley. Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Hudson United Brethren Church with the Rev. Craig Burkholder officiating. Burial will be in Circle Cemetery with military graveside services. Calling will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home, 612 N. Main St., Hudson, and Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. the church.
