Description	:	Ted E. Demory, 79, of Apache Junction, AZ, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died peacefully at his home Saturday, February 14, 2009, from Melanoma. Ted was born February 2, 1930 to Earl and Gertrude Demory in Cedar Rapids. After graduating from McKinley High School he was employed with Quaker Oats where he met Marilyn Muir. Demory, 79, of Apache Junction, AZ, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died peacefully at his home Saturday, February 14, 2009, from Melanoma. Ted was born February 2, 1930 to Earl and Gertrude Demory in Cedar Rapids. After graduating from McKinley High School he was employed with Quaker Oats where he met Marilyn Muir. They were married on June 4, 1950. During the Korean War he served in the National Guard and then as a Sergeant in the Army 3657th Ord M M Co. After his discharge, he was employed by Collins Radio as a draftsman for 20 years. Ted then went on to owning and operating two businesses in the area. He worked for Allen's Motor Company for six years before moving to Mesa, Arizona in 1978 where he was employed by Tony M. Coury Buick as a salesman, lease manager, and finally as finance manager until his retirement in 1992. Ted was active in his community as President of his Homeowners Association, Presidents of the Nuggets Social Club, and as Vice President of the Arizona Association of Homeowners. Ted was always ready to assist the neighbors in his community. He enjoyed playing golf for many years and had a knack for landscaping and all forms of handiwork. He had a wonderful smile, great sense of humor, and his laugh was contagious. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Marilyn; son Michael (Teresa) of Dubuque, Iowa, three daughters, Patti (Jeff) Ogden of Oregon, Illinois, Susan (Brian) Skoog of Burnsville, Minnesota, and Sandra (Wes) Nosek of Gilbert, Arizona; one sister, Belle Gardner of Hiawatha, Iowa; nine grandchildren, Chad, Michael Paul, Heather, Matt, Chari, Danielle, Kehly, Braydon, and Jake, and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three sisters, Lois Marie, Dorothy, and Gertrude. Ted will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. The family would like to give a special thank you to the entire staff at Hospice of the Valley for the wonderful care given to Ted. Services with military honors at 11 AM Friday in Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. William Harnish will officiate. Military honors by VFW Post #788.
