He was born July 13, 1934 in Muncie, Indiana and attended Muncie Central High School. He worked fifty years in the grocery business, starting as a stock-boy with Marsh Foodliners at age fifteen. He later served as vice president of Marsh Supermarkets, president of Lewis Grocer Company, and southeast regional president of Supervalu. He was born July 13, 1934 in Muncie, Indiana and attended Muncie Central High School. He worked fifty years in the grocery business, starting as a stock-boy with Marsh Foodliners at age fifteen. He is preceded in death by his wife of fifty-nine years, Norma Stohler Crouse; his father, Chicago White Sox catcher, Clyde "Bucky" Crouse; his mother, Lottie Weems Crouse; and his five siblings. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Ted and Trudy Crouse of Atlanta; his son, Scott Crouse of Muncie; his son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Angelia Crouse of Atlanta; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Ted was a longtime member of the Roswell Street Baptist Church of Marietta, Georgia and was formerly a member of the Grace Baptist Church of Muncie, Indiana. Visitation will 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Culberson Funeral Home in Hagerstown, Indiana. Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Collins Glenn officiating. Ted will be laid to rest next to his wife, Norma, at the Brick Cemetery, near Hagerstown. Online condolences may be left at www.culbersonfh.com.
