Temperance Gifford Fish Was born in Falmouth July 29, 1855 and died at her home in Falmouth February 4, 1908, at the age of 52 years, 6 months and 5 days. She was the younger of two children; her brother, Wm. Thatcher Fish of New York City, survives her. She was married December 24, 1874, to David H. Bowman and to them have been born six children—James T., Elizabeth R. Lumbert, Benj. C., Bertha T. Knowles, David Clifton and Florus A., all of whom, with their father, remain to mourn her loss. Mrs. Bowman united wilh the local Methodist Episcopal church December 28, 1890, From that day to this she has been an ardent worker in the church, a Christian at heart, but best of all, showing her Christianity by doing for others. In sickness she has been in the homes as a tender watcher, in sorrow many has she cheered and comforted, in hours of heavy problems and perplexity she has been a constant advisor and helper. When the day shall come that the record of life shall be opened up, many will rise up to call her blessed. In her demise the home has lost a loving wife and mother, the church an able leader the community a largehearted, cheerful and considerate friend. She was like her Savior whom she loved so much in that, however busy or when suffering herself, she was always thinking of someone who needed help or how she might further the interests of Christ's kingdom. The funeral was held from her late residenoe Thursday afternoon, Rev. J. Ralph Magee of the M.E. church officiating. Interment was in Oak Grove cemetery.
