She was born August 10, 1968 in Davis County, Iowa to James “Jimmy” and Jeanne Newcomer Mitchell. She married Olen Jarvis Jr. on November 25, 1989 in Monterey, Iowa. Olen passed away on March 20, 2012. Teresa graduated from Indian Hills with a degree in early childhood education and worked for Head Start in Keosauqua and Bloomfield as a teacher. While growing up in Davis County she was active in Girl Scouts and was a member of the Monterey Christian Church. In her free time, Teresa enjoyed reading, working on crafts, and watching cooking shows to learn new recipes. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her mother, Jeanne Mitchell of Bloomfield; daughter, Jessica (Dustin Badker) Jarvis of Osage, Iowa; son, Cody (Nikki Wilson) Jarvis of Bloomfield; grandson, Christian Jarvis of Blakesburg, Iowa; and her significant other, Ronnie Riley of Bloomfield. She was preceded in death by her father; husband; grandparents, Ralph and Wilma Mitchell, Luther Leon and Alice Newcomer; and parents-in-law, Olen Sr. and Thelma Jarvis. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Bill Eakins officiating. Burial will be at Burgher Cemetery in Davis County. Visitation with social distance guidelines will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday with the family present to greet friends from 5-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to her family.
