Description	:	Terrence Dean Dicks was born in Albia, Iowa, June 16, 1940 and died as the result of a bicycle-car collision in Ottumwa, Iowa, March 18, 1953, age 12 years, 9 months and 2 days. The eldest of three sons of Walter and Geraldine Dicks, he with his parents and brothers had lived in Albia until about two years ago, when they had moved to Ottumwa. Read More	Terrence Dean Dicks was born in Albia, Iowa, June 16, 1940 and died as the result of a bicycle-car collision in Ottumwa, Iowa, March 18, 1953, age 12 years, 9 months and 2 days. The eldest of three sons of Walter and Geraldine Dicks, he with his parents and brothers had lived in Albia until about two years ago, when they had moved to Ottumwa. Terry was in the seventh grade at Oak Ridge school in Ottumwa, and was a bright, industrious boy,beloved by all who knew him. He was much interested in fishing and sports, as well as in his school work. Terry and his two brothers, who lived just east of Ottumwa near highway 34, had just gone to visit a neighbor youngster who was unable to attend school that day because of illness. In their return home from the visit with the schoolmate, it had become dark. In their attempt to cross the pavement, they were struck by a car. The driver of the car was blinded by lights of oncoming cars. His brother, Johnny, is still in the Ottumwa hospital, recovering from injuries. Frank was uninjured. He is survived by his parents and two brothers, Frank and Johnny, the latter of whom, seriously injured in the same tragic accident which cost Terry's life. He is survived also by three grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dicks of Albia, and Mr. Mahlon Knapp of Eddyville, a number of uncles, aunts and cousins, and a host of sorrowing friends. Funeral services at the Turner Funeral Home in Moravia were conducted by Rev. William H. Brower, pastor of the Avery Brethren church, at 2 p. m., March 21, 1953; Burial in Hillcrest cemetery near Moravia.
