Updated information from R D Baith Dec 18, 2012: Terressa Weeden Bare Fag # 5330199 was the daughter of Isaac Weeden and Sarah A. Farr. She can be found with them on the 1860 Meigs County and 1870 Columbiana County census. It appears that she had a child out of wedlock with O. G. Ashford on 7 Jan 1876. The name written in the record book is difficult to read but could be Olive, however the sex is given as male so maybe it's supposed to be Oliver. On the 1880 census she is married to Frank Van Skiver and there are two children listed that are Teressa's children: Lena Lenora and Harry[sic Harvey] Van Skiver. There are birth records for Lena and Harvey showing their parents as Franklin and Teressa. On the 1900 census Teressa, now married to George Bare, is said to have given birth to 4 children with 2 living. Her son Harve Van Skiver is living with them. On the 1910 census both George and Teressa are 24 years into their 2nd marriage. She is now shown as giving birth to 3 children with 1 living. Although the living child is not named, Harvey is still living and didn't die until 1961 and is buried in Grandview Cemetery in Salem. Lena is listed in the Columbiana Cemetery with a death date of 20 June 1882 aged 3y 10m 9d. Calculating the birth date from this age does not match the birth record date of 19 September 1878 So to recap: She seems to have had either 3 or 4 children, one with O.G. Weeden and Oliver G. Ashford. She was stunned when I had to tell her he had either been adopted by Nathan Crawford or had just taken his name. That was as far as I could get, until today. His daughter went on to write a book about her father and included probably 30 to 40 of his poems. Oliver loved cowboy poetry and also wrote many short stories which were published in many magazines and newspapers. And, he wrote many songs. I have a copy of the book his daughter wrote. It is called "A Poet's Journey". Oliver was told various stories about his parents. One was that they were actors and left him Ohio and went off to work in other states. He was extremely bitter all his life that his parents had left him. Oliver's full name was Oliver Griffith Crawford, and he went by Griff most of his life. He wrote under Griff Crawford as well. I found 5 to 10 of his poems online about 30 minutes ago with a short biography and newspaper articles about him and his death. end pertinant information.
