Lenton, 55, of Hadar will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Norfolk with burial in Prospect View Cemetery in Pierce and military rites by Tomek-Otto American Legion Post 72, Offutt Air Force Honor Guard and American Legion Riders. He was baptized at St. Frances Catholic Church, Randolph, attended Hadar Public School and graduated from Pierce High School in 1970 He was married to Patty Devney on Sept. 16, 1972, at Fremont. After they were married, Terry was in the military. They were stationed at Cannon Air Force Base, Clovis, N.M. He served in the Air Force from Oct. 26, 1972, to Dec. 23, 1974. He was an aircraft mechanic on jets. After the military he was in the Air National Guard from 1975 to 1978. After he was out they lived in the Hadar area. He worked for Petring Farm Equipment. He then drove a truck for Midwest Canners. They purchased their first truck in 1980 and started Lenton Trucking. He hauled for Wis-Pak and farmed on the side. They enjoyed reining horses and competing and showing on the national level. Terry was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's Disease in June of 2007. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Norfolk, president of the Norfolk Rodeo Association for 17 years and a member of Pierce American Legion. Survivors include his wife Patty Lenton of rural Hadar; one daughter Tammy and husband Chad Bernhardt of Hoskins; two grandchildren, Trevor and Chloe; one sister Karen and husband Mike Sovereign of Tabor, S.D.; father-in-law Robert Devney of Winside; two brothers-in-law, Richard and wife Ginny Devney of Omaha, Dennis and wife Chris Devney of Fremont; sister-in-law Cyndi and husband Brad Wehner of Stanton. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Delwin. The Revs. Lee Weander and Adrian Hanft will officiate. Organist will be Melodee Drenkow and soloist Cassie Dore. Casket bearers will be nephews Mark Sovereign, Brian Wehner, Joe Wehner, Bob Devney, Keith Devney and Rik Devney. Honorary casket bearers will be grandchildren Trevor Lenton and Chloe Bernhardt, nieces Samantha Workman, Melissa Kriz, Jill Hayner, Angie Munn.
