He was raised in rural Woodbine and graduated from Woodbine High School in 1970. Terry farmed near Woodbine and then worked at the Rock Quarry, was a truck driver for Scribner where he received many driving awards and then worked at Vulcan Industries in Missouri Valley, Iowa for nearly 20 years. Terry married Marthann Kohl on January 23, 1971, in Denison, Iowa. They were blessed with three children, Shelly Ann, 1971; Shannon Lee, 1975; and Sheila Belle, 1978. They were divorced in 1984. He married Anita Marie (Estum) Robbins Woods on May 1, 1991. They were divorced in Jan. 1994. Terry married Mary (Stahlnecker) Hillman on May 11, 1994, in Logan, Iowa. He then gained a step-son, Aaron Hillman. Terry was one of the co-founders of the Hill Blazers Club. He loved horses and participated in many Saddle Club horse shows. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and motorcycling. He enjoyed antique tractors and tractor pulls. He particularly enjoyed taking vacations on the motorcycle or in the Mustang. He also thoroughly enjoyed watching parades and being in the parades. The couple enjoyed participating in tractor rides together. Terry died on Saturday, August 30, 2014, at his home in Woodbine, Iowa after a strong fight against cancer at the age of 63 years, three months, and 29 days. Terry was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Mary Sorey of Woodbine, Iowa; three daughters, Shelly (Eric) Schmidt of Harlan, Iowa, Shannon Sorey of Kirkman, Iowa, Sheila (Ron) Rogers of Omaha, Nebraska; step-son, Aaron Hillman of Omaha, Nebraska; six grandchildren, Cody Schmidt (Trinity) Buck, Moorhead, Iowa, Ronnie Rogers, Jefferson City, Tenn., Anthony Daugherty of Tekamah, Nebraska, Amanda Schmidt, Harlan, Iowa, Faith Sorey, Kirkman, Iowa, Chloe Schmidt, Harlan, Iowa; one great granddaughter, Miley Jo Daugherty of Tekamah, Nebraska, one great grandson, Lee Dalton Buck, Moorhead, Iowa; three sisters, Deanna (Jim) Porter of Woodbine, Iowa, Judy Sorey of Logan, Iowa, Lori (Bill) Benson of Woodbine, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Fouts Funeral Home 501 Normal Street Woodbine, IA (712) 647-2221 Wednesday, September 03 Visitation 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM Family will receive friends 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Fouts Funeral Home Thursday, September 04 Funeral Service 2:00 PM Fouts Funeral Home Burial 2:30 PM Woodbine Cemetery Woodbine, IA * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
