Description	:	Terry LeRoy Carlson, 66 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at the Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege. Terry was born on July 30, 1944 at Holdrege, the youngest of two sons born to Vinston D. "Vinny" and Harriet R. (Nelson) Carlson. Terry received his primary education north of Holdrege at the District #52 and R-3 rural schools and then attended Holdrege High School. He was baptized and confirmed at the Holcomb Church. Read More	Terry LeRoy Carlson, 66 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at the Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege. Terry was born on July 30, 1944 at Holdrege, the youngest of two sons born to Vinston D. "Vinny" and Harriet R. (Nelson) Carlson. Terry received his primary education north of Holdrege at the District #52 and R-3 rural schools and then attended Holdrege High School. He was baptized and confirmed at the Holcomb Church. He was active in the Holcomb Church and sang in the church choir for many years. Terry enjoyed assisting his parents on the family farm. Terry had many challenges throughout his life, yet his Lord gave him a special gift of being able to connect to people. In 1984, his parents retired from active farming and moved into Holdrege, where Terry resided until his passing. On September 5, 2000, he was preceded in death by his mother, Harriet. In 1999, Terry and his father, Vinny began to make their home at the Christian Homes Care Community-Independent Living. He was preceded in death by his father, Vinston "Vinny" on May 30, 2010. Terry enjoyed fishing, boating and swimming at Johnson Lake with his family. He enjoyed traveling to parts of Europe and especially enjoyed a trip to Sweden with his parents, the home of his ancestors. Terry leaves to mourn his passing his brother, Nelson Thomas "Tom" Carlson and his wife, Margo of Holdrege; and two nephews and one niece: Dr. Chad Carlson and his wife, Amanda of Urbandale, Iowa, Erin Carlson of Chicago, Illinois and Nathan Carlson of Holdrege. He especially enjoyed his two great-nephews and two great-nieces: Ian, Ava, and Eli Carlson and Sydney McHatten. Additional survivors include uncles and aunt: LeRoy Nelson and his wife, Shirley of Beaumont, California, Don Rodine of Beaverton, Oregon and Dora Lee Carlson of Holdrege and a host of relatives and friends. Besides his parents, Terry was preceded in death by an uncle, Vernon "Pat" Carlson and his wife, Myrene; and two aunts: Marge Cissell and her husband, Chuck, and Delores Rodine.
