Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 25, 2018 at the United Methodist Church in Nashua with Rev. Darin Cerwinske celebrating the service. Military interment will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Nashua with Tracy Demro, Cade Demro, Chad Demro, Chris Demro, Tom Demro, Greg Woodin, Scott Woodin and Carrie Fisher serving as pallbearers. Visitation continues an hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Terry Ray Demro was born October 5, 1949 in Charles City, IA the son of Ronald P. and Ruth Arline (Patten) Demro. He attended school in Nashua and graduated from Nashua High School in 1968. After high school he entered the United States Air Force on March 19, 1969. He served his time during the Vietnam War and was honorable discharged from active duty on January 5, 1973. When he returned he was stationed in Grand Forks AFB Mekinock, North Dakota. Terry was in the reserves until January 13, 1975. On October 28, 1978 he was united in marriage to Cynthia Ann Stith at the United Methodist Church in Nashua. To this union three children were born. He worked at Western Auto in Grand Forks until he took employment at Waterloo Service Company in 1974 until 2007. After that he went to work for K&H Co-Op until his retirement in 2012. In Terry’s free time you could often catch him fishing, deer or turkey hunting, trapping or making his own jigs to fish with. He enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs, Iowa Hawkeyes and NASCAR. Spending time with his family was also very important to him. He was an avid outdoorsmen to say the least, who loved looking out over the Cedar River. Terry is survived by his wife, Cynthia of Nashua, IA; one daughter Renae (Mike) Johnson of Nashua IA; two sons Randy (Amber Fratze) Demro of Nashua, IA, Ryan Demro of Nashua, IA; two grandsons, Chancellor Johnson of Nashua, IA, Remington Johnson of Nashua, IA; one brother Dennis (Zelda) Demro of Nashua, IA; two sisters, Vicki (William) Jones of Nashua, IA, Rhonda (Curt) Murff of Moekena, IL; four nieces, one nephew, two great-nephews, two great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents. Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home - Olson Chapel in Nashua.
