Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Terry was born July 3, 1965, in Decorah, the son of Dick and Jan (Keck) Helgeson. He graduated from Decorah High School, class of 1983. He attended the University of Iowa, before starting his career in the automotive industry. He worked in the Automotive Industry for 37 years and has been a valued employee of Cedar Rapids Toyota since 2006. Over the years he developed many long-lasting friendships with his clients and co-workers. Terry was united in marriage to Carrie Marie Kuhns on June 18, 2006, at Brown Deer Golf Club in Coralville and in December of 2021 they received he sacrament of marriage in the Catholic Church. He was an avid outdoorsman and Hawkeye fan. He also has a passion for golfing, watching sports, playing in a men's basketball league, and most of all liked spending time with his family and his beloved dog, Finn. He was preceded in death by his father Dick, and infant twin daughters Kaylyn and Kelsey Helgeson, his maternal grandparents Wesley and Odella Keck, paternal grandparents Elmer and Mary Helgeson and sister-in-law Lisa Helgeson. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.
