Description	:	Theda I. Broer, age 90, of Huron, SD, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2013 at the SunQuest Healthcare Center in Huron, SD. Her Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday September 20, 2013 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Huron. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, September 19, at the Welter Funeral Home, with a prayer service to begin at 7:00 p.m.; or visitation one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Theda Irene Duncan, the daughter of Earl and Berniece (Ward) Duncan was born on February 23, 1923 in Theodosha, MO. She attended school and graduated from Wilson High School in Los Angeles, CA. Theda was a homemaker and took great pride in caring for her family. On December 29, 1945, Theda married Robert Broer at Los Angeles, California. They moved to the Beadle County area where they farmed for many years. Theda was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Huron, SD. She also attended the Calvary Baptist Church in Huron. Theda was a member of the All Neighborhood Women's Club (ANW club), the Farmer's Union Local #654, and the Christian Women's Club. Theda enjoyed baking, knitting, and embroidery. She was an avid gardener and loved taking care of her flowers. Theda's family was very important to her and she loved spending time with them, especially attending her grandchildren's events and cheering for them. Grateful for having shared in Theda's life are her three sons, Gary (Janet) Broer of Phoenix, AZ, Phillip (Lilly) Broer of St. Paul, MN, and Steve Broer of Huron; one daughter Linda (Vince) Wagner of Alpena, SD; 11 grandchildren, Loralee (Robert) Broer-Marshall, Joy (Ben) Meyer, Jennifer (Timothy) Kokesh, David (Danielle) Broer, Dena Barton, Sarah (Lee) Topel, Paul (Sanja) Broer, Audra (Wesley) Fergen, Jay Barton, Jessica Broer, and Parker Broer; nine great-grandchildren, brother, Paul (Millie) Duncan of Los Angeles, CA; and many nieces, nephews and special friends. Theda was preceded in death by; her husband Robert in 2009; her parents; granddaughter-in-law, Laina Barton; four brothers; and two sisters.
