She was the widow of William B. Kierstead. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Howard C. Barney, and Ida M. (Sheldon) Barney, she lived in Warwick most of her life. Mrs. Kierstead was a secretary for her father, a Providence optometrist, until retiring in 1968.
