Description	:	Thelma Bernice Reid Ripberger, 79, Tipton passed away on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011, at Tipton Hospital. She was born May 17, 1931 in Sacramento, Calif., the daughter of Paul Girard and Thelma (Simmons) Reid. She lived in Sacramento before moving to Santa Anna, Calif., where she lived until 1950. She graduated from Santa Anna High School in 1949 and continued her education in insurance through Allstate from 1989-1990. Read More	Thelma Bernice Reid Ripberger, 79, Tipton passed away on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011, at Tipton Hospital. She was born May 17, 1931 in Sacramento, Calif., the daughter of Paul Girard and Thelma (Simmons) Reid. She lived in Sacramento before moving to Santa Anna, Calif., where she lived until 1950. She graduated from Santa Anna High School in 1949 and continued her education in insurance through Allstate from 1989-1990. On April 12, 1955, she married Jim Ripberger at St. John's Rectory in Tipton by the Rev. Jerome Walski. He preceded her in death June. 23, 1987. She was a homemaker and had worked for Allstate in Tipton. She was a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Elwood, had volunteered at Tipton Hospital and was a foreign exchange student mother. She is survived by her children, Robin Ripberger of Tipton, Maria Leino Rautava of Finland, Yasuko Ijima of Japan, Mia Atsuta of Japan and Leticia Verra of Spain; two son-in-laws, Russell Dulworth and Timo Rautava; grandchildren, Jalese and Dalton Dulworth of Tipton and Ellen and Lassi Rautava of Finland; and a great-grandchild, Taydem Leiding. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Paula Jean Reid Wiand on Nov. 12, 1990. A memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Elwood. Burial will be at a later date at Tipton's St. John's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society – Indiana Chapter, 941 E. 86th St., Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46240-1842.
