Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 22, 2005,at the Walker-Merrick Funeral Home, Clarinda, Iowa with Reverend Mark Woldruff and Reverend Walden Paige officiating. Visitation with the family will be 7-8 p.m., Friday, October 21, 2005 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Shearer Cemetery, near Braddyville, Iowa. A memorial will be established. Walker-Merrick Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Thelma Darleen Woldruff was the daughter of the late Orie and Oneita (Brown) Woldruff. She was born May 29, 1919 near Braddyville, Iowa. She was a life long resident of Page/Taylor counties. She grew up on the farm and after graduating from Braddyville High School, she became a nanny and housekeeper. She took care of mothers of newborn babies and helped care for children of other families. As a young lady, Darleen joined the Methodist Church at Siam, Iowa, which is now closed. She went to church as often as she could when able. She enjoyed watching television; Lawrence Welk, doing crossword puzzles, playing cards, reading, hand work and sewing when able. Foster Manor was her home for twenty years and she made many special friends there that she enjoyed. In 2004 after an illness she went to Goldenrod Manor and made many more special friends. Preceding Darleen in death were her parents and brother-in-law, Charles Noble. Survivors include sisters, Leona Oxley and husband Lloyd of Mt. Ayr, Iowa, Marilyn Noble of Kansas City, Missouri; brother, Robert Woldruff and wife Wanda of Bedford, Iowa; six nephews; five nieces; aunts, Lois Orme of Maryville, Missouri, Amie Bast of Grant City, Missouri; uncle, Marvin Woldruff and wife Ethel of Clarinda, Iowa; special cousin Gloria Howell of San Jacinto, California. She was a loving sister and will be missed by all.
