She was the daughter of the late Albert and Elsie (Arnold) Mann. She was a member of American Association of Retired Persons; past president of York New Salem Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary; and a former member of York County Coon and Beagle Club Ladies Auxiliary. She also was a member of St. Jacob's Lutheran Church in York New Salem. Mrs. Wherley is survived by a son, James L. Bupp of Shrewsbury; three daughters, Jacqueline M. Gentzler of Hanover, Suzanne E. Binko of York, and JoAnn D. Matthews of Seven Valleys; a stepson, Lowell Wherley of York; a stepdaughter, Bobbi Lynn Wherley of York; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a half brother, Kenneth Mann of York; and a half sister, Evelyn B. Whithead of East Berlin. Mrs. Wherley was preceded in death by a son, Larry O. Bupp, and a daughter, Judith I. Bupp. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Mark A. Billow of St. Pauls (Zeiglers) Lutheran Church in Seven Valleys, and the Rev. William Walker of Turnpike Baptist Church in Shrewsbury.
