Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Coleridge, with the Rev. Andreas Stein officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Wintz Funeral Home in Coleridge. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church. Mrs. Martensen was born July 10, 1919, in Coleridge, the daughter of John and Anna Louise (Havekost) Hash. She grew up in the Coleridge area and graduated from Coleridge High School in 1936. She received her teaching certificate from Wayne State College in Wayne, Neb. She then taught school until her marriage. She married Louis Martensen on July 11, 1940, in Coleridge. The couple lived in Coleridge from 1954 to 1964. From 1964 to 1987, she lived in Norfolk, Neb., where she worked for Land of Lakes. Mr. Martensen passed away Nov. 2, 1985. She returned to Coleridge in 1987. She had been a resident of the Embers since November 2002. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the ILCW. She also was a member of the Coleridge American Legion Auxiliary Post 114. Survivors include three daughters and their husbands, Ruth and Doug Preston of Randolph, Neb., Diane and Gary Frerichs of Coleridge and Lori Jo and Brian Zigterman of Aurora, Ill.; a son and his wife, Don and Joyce Martensen of Hinton, Iowa; two brothers and their wives, William and Virginia Hash of Middleburg, Fla., and Orlando and Herdis Hash of Eagan, Minn.; two sisters, Louise and her husband, Ted Reitz of Pasco, Wash., and Gretchen Luna of Los Angeles, Calif.; a son-in-law, Don Ternus of Creston, Neb.; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Linda Ternus; a great-grandson, David Martensen; and two brothers, John and Lisle Hash. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Anne Guynn, Bret Frerichs, Mark Preston, Caryl Alarcon, Barry Frerichs, Melissa Kelly and Dean Martensen; Honorary pallbearers will be Darin Martensen, Joni Geroux and Kaitlyn Zigterman.
