Thelma was born on August 3, 1926, the daughter of Edgar and Ellen (Johnson) Wallace in Marshalltown. She graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1942. Thelma married Adelbert Nablo on October 7, 1944, in Marshalltown. She was employed by Fisher Controls in Marshalltown as an Assembler, retiring in 1988. Thelma was a member of Hope United Methodist Church, the Red Hat Society, and the UAW. Her hobbies included quilting, reading, crocheting, sewing, spoiling her grandkids, and loving her whole family. Thelma enjoyed traveling, and visited many states and foreign countries. She was an avid sports fan and the highlight of her later years was living to see her Cubs win the World Series. She is survived by her three sons, Jim Nablo of Marshalltown, Ron (Dianna) Nablo of Marshalltown, and Gary (Pam) Nablo of Marshalltown; two daughters, Connie (Gary) Oleson of Draper, Utah, and Dawn (Richard) Kern of Shakopee, Minnesota; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marge Raum, Helen Landis, and Gertrude Malmquist; and a brother, Dale (Norma) Wallace. She was preceded in death by her husband, Adelbert; a grandson, Craig Nablo; one sister; three brothers; and a daughter-in-law, Paula Nablo. Anderson Funeral Home, Marshalltown, Iowa∼Times Republican, Marshalltown, Iowa 4 June 2020 Funeral services for Thelma L. Nablo, 93, at Anderson Funeral Homes, Marshalltown, Iowa, with Rev. Nan Smith officiating. Pallbearers were Brian Oleson, Chad Nablo, Jon Nablo, Harrison Kern, Debbie Spence, and Jennifer MacDuff. Honorary bearers were Rusty Shore, Trevor MacDuff, and Tom Spence. Interment in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens, Marshalltown, Iowa.
