Description	:	Thelma Lorane Stejskal, the daughter of George and Clara (Larson) Kittelson was born February 15, 1920 at the family residence east of Petersburg, NE. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at the North Branch Church. She received her elementary education at Boone County School District #51 and graduated from Newman Grove High School in 1938. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at the North Branch Church. She received her elementary education at Boone County School District #51 and graduated from Newman Grove High School in 1938. Following her schooling, she worked at the Closter Telephone Exchange and Wilson’s Studio. Thelma was united in marriage to Leland Stejskal on March 19, 1946 in Sioux City, IA. Following their marriage they lived and farmed 5 ½ miles west of Albion. To this union two children were born: Stephanie and Douglas. Thelma was a homemaker, wife, and mother to their two children. She also worked part time at Nore’s Jewelry for many years. She loved the farm life, raising her gardens and taking walks in the countryside. After moving to town, she developed a love for reading. Thelma was a member of North Branch Lutheran Church, and after marriage a member of Zion Lutheran Church since 1946. She was also a member of W.E.L.C.A., Zion Lutheran Church Women, Peace Circle, taught Sunday school and sang in the church choir. Community involvement was important to Thelma as she was active in the Boone County V.F.W. Auxiliary and District 15 V.F.W. Auxiliary where she served as president, secretary, and conductress of each auxiliary and also was on the Albion Cemetery Board. She volunteered many hours at the Mission Possible store, delivering Meals on Wheels, helping out around the church and delivering bulletins to the home bound. Surviving Thelma are her children: Stephanie Rolf and husband Carroll of Cibolo, TX; Douglas of Columbus, NE; three grandchildren: Scott Rolf and wife Shelly of Cibolo, TX; Tricia Rolf of Omaha, NE; and Kent Stejskal of Lincoln, NE; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Leland on February 15, 1993; three brothers: Garnes, Alvin, and Kenneth Kittelson; and three sisters-in-law: Marge, Mildred, and Anna.
