Description	:	Thelma Louise Hodge Fletcher, age 97 of Gainesville, FL passed away on January 8, 2015. She was born in Newberry, FL on October 1, 1917 to Lula and John Franklin Hodge. Following high school she attended the University of Florida. She enjoyed being actively involved in the Gainesville Woman's Club (President 1977-78), Gainesville Garden Club and the Girl's Club of Alachua County. She was born in Newberry, FL on October 1, 1917 to Lula and John Franklin Hodge. Following high school she attended the University of Florida. She enjoyed being actively involved in the Gainesville Woman's Club (President 1977-78), Gainesville Garden Club and the Girl's Club of Alachua County. She was creative and talented in flower arranging and painting landscapes. Mrs. Fletcher served quietly on many boards and in leadership positions in these and other organizations. She, also, was an active member of the National Association of Parliamentarians. Mrs. Fletcher started her entrepreneurial career at a young age in Trenton, FL. After moving to Gainesville in the 1940's she became a successful homebuilder and developer during which time she built and managed apartment and commercial properties. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Gainesville, FL. Mrs. Fletcher was preceded in death by her loving husband, A. W. Fletcher, a daughter, Inarae Fletcher Young, two sons, Gene Inman Fletcher and Arthur Furman Fletcher. Survivors include her daughter Judie Fletcher (Richard) Furman, nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Funeral Services were held on January 17, 2015, in the Chapel at Forest Meadows Central Cemetery. Internment followed in the cemetery.
