Description	:	PILOT MOUNTAIN, NC ~ Mrs. Thelma Flippin Gordon, 90, a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away April 23, 2007. She was the daughter of the late Palmer and Lona Jessup Flippin. She was married to the late Vester Gordon. Mrs. Gordon was a vital member of the community and to her faith and a long time member of Pine Ridge Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Gordon was a vital member of the community and to her faith and a long time member of Pine Ridge Presbyterian Church. Surviving are son and daughter-in-law Arthur Rex and Nancy Gordon of Pilot Mountain; seven grandchildren, Frankie and Gene Taylor of Pilot Mountain; Dwight and Kim Durham of Pilot Mountain; Patsy and Mark Spencer of Pilot Mountain; Tammy and Mark Rodgers of Pilot Mountain; David and Patti Durham of King; Art and Cheryl Gordon of Greenville, S.C.; and Scott Gordon of Winston-Salem; 12 great-grandchildren; and sisters Alice Johnson of Pilot Mountain and Ruby Roberts of Pilot Mountain. Mrs. Gordon was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter and son-in-law Dana and Wayne McCraw; and two brothers, Ray and Joseph Flippin. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, at Pine Ridge Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Pat Ward and Preacher Doug Brinkley officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The Gordon family will receive family and friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today, April 24, at Pine Ridge Presbyterian Church, and other times at the home of Rex Gordon on Jessup Grove Church Road. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pine Ridge Presbyterian Church, c/o Rodney Taylor, P.O. Box 1700, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041.
