Description	:	Dosha was the only child of John and Nancy (Moorman) Paxson. About 6 weeks after Dosha's birth, her mother died and she was reared by her maternal grandparents Micajah Clark and Susanna (Chiles) Moorman. Micajah died in 1806 and Susannah and Dosha removed from South River MM in Campbell Co, VA, to Center MM, OH in 1809. "Dear Friends, Our Esteemed friend Susanna Moorman being about to remove from this to Settle within the Verge of your Monthly Meeting requests our Certificate for her self and granddaughter Dosha Paxson (a minor under her care) to be joined thereto,... Signed in & on behalf of South River Monthly Meeting held in Campbell County Virginia the 9th day of 9th mo 1809. -- William Davis Jr Clerk, Judith Johnson Clerk, at this time" Item 6 of Dosha's father's will stated: "It is my will and wish That my Daughter Dosha Moorman have Five Dollars as her legacy She having had all her Mothers property--Nancy Paxon my first wife. She married her first cousin Thomas Pamphlin Moorman on July 12, 1811 and was disowned. "Dec. 7, 1811. Dosha (Moreman) (formerly Paxton) disowned married out of unity. Encyclopedia of Quaker Genealogy OH Vol. 5. Page 471. But was evidently later reinstated. Moorman Hiatt 1824- Elizabeth Moorman Alexander Baily 1827- Rachel Moorman Green 1829- Martha Eliza Moorman Ellis 1831- James Ellis Moorman 1833- Paxon Hope Moorman 1835-1859 *William Newton Moorman 1838- "She was large of size, weighing about 175 pounds, strong constitution, energetic and industrious. Had black hair and dark blue eyes, and was quite handsome. In the early days would sometimes walk 4 miles and carry a baby, pick a wooden bucket full of blackberries and carry the baby and berries home. She was a leading churchworker, and served as clerk of the women's meeting at Seneca for about 40 years. She was emphatically opposed to slavery; negroes on their escape, or anyone in need, always found shelter and sustenance in her house. She was always careful in the raising of her family, and was helpful to sick and needy neighbors. In later life Dosha suffered from progressive paralysis, and her mind was partly deranged.
