Description	:	Theodora E. Merrill, 95, of Ottumwa, died May 10, 2020. Theodora was born August 28, 1924 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Steve and Zella (Ruby) Pappaducas. Theodora graduated from Ottumwa Heights Academy and attended Ottumwa Heights College. She also attended Iowa Business Success School. Merrill, 95, of Ottumwa, died May 10, 2020. Theodora was born August 28, 1924 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Steve and Zella (Ruby) Pappaducas. Theodora graduated from Ottumwa Heights Academy and attended Ottumwa Heights College. She also attended Iowa Business Success School. On June 24, 1967, Theodora married Willard Merrill and he died April 3, 1976. Theodora worked at Standard Kollsman and retired from the family-owned Washington Cleaners after 30 years. Under the AARP program, Theodora was employed at the Salvation Army, Department of Social Services, and the Crisis Center. Currently, Theodora was a member of the Foster Grandparent Program, under the auspices of the American Homefinding Association, assisting the students and staff at James Elementary School. Theodora was a lifetime, second generation member of Trinity Episcopal Church. She enjoyed shopping, singing, and dancing on Saturday nights. She also had a great sense of humor, and was a wonderful cook. Surviving are her five children, Steva Nord, Aranda (Dale) Terrell, and Cort (Ramona) Wells, all of Ottumwa, Keveen (Larry) Mullendore of Swisher, Iowa, and Kyla Miletich of Coralville, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; Tracey (John) Mitchell, Nick Nord, Bruce Nord, Melissa (Alex) Volkov, Lance Miletich (Tony Melillo), Lindsey Jones, Whitney (Dustin) Criswell, Shelby (Jeff) McCord, Matthew (Sara) Krieger, and Mitchell (Linda) Krieger; five step-grandchildren, twenty great-grand-children, and nine step great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Wanda Solon of El Paso, TX and Ethel Tharp of Madison, WI; and brother-in-law, Regnar Modrell of Oskaloosa, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Daniel, Gus, and Bob Pappaducas; a sister, Jean Modrell; sisters-in-law, Muretta, Linda, and Patti Pappaducas; brothers-in-law, Jack Solon and Richard Tharp; and a son-in-law, Stephen Nord. Private funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home. For those not able to be inside the funeral home with the family during the service, you may watch the funeral from Reece Funeral Home’s Facebook page. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.rfh-ia.com. Limited visitation will be open to friends from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home.
