At the age of 18 she left the shores of her homeland and came to America, arriving at Clinton, Iowa, Dec. 2, 1869. In 1872 she married... Read More	Mrs. Theodora Ringblom Laid To Final Rest Monday Theodora Thorbjornsen Ringblom, was born Oct. 1st, 1851 in Borjen Soken, Fredrekstad, Norway. At the age of 18 she left the shores of her homeland and came to America, arriving at Clinton, Iowa, Dec. 2, 1869. That she had received spiritual impressions in the land of her fathers, shows itself in the fact that she was one of that small group of Lutherans which organized the Lutheran church in Clinton, becoming one of its charter members, and at the time of her death was the sole surviving charter member. In 1872 she married Carl Ringblom at Clinton, where they made their home until 1893 when they moved to a farm a few miles west of what is now Albert City. There they labored hard, wrestling a good farm from the virgin prairie. Five children were born to this family, namely, Josephine Davis of Chicago; Hilma Murphy of Clinton; Arthur of Sacramento, Calif.; Clarence of Kingsburg, Calif.; and Harold of Albert City, all whom survive. Her husband passed away in November 1902, and ever since then she has continued living in this community. She was living with her youngest son, Harold at the time of her passing. All through her life she remained true to the Lutheran church in which faith she found solace and comfort during her illness. She rested in the arms of her loving Saviour who had redeemed her with His precious blood. Her health commenced failing about two years ago but not until three months ago did it take a serious turn for the worse. She passed over the thresh hold of eternity on Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 23rd at an advanced, age of 87 years, 9 months and 22 days.
