He shares a grave marker with his daughter, Lela Luse Judge OBITUARY THE MORAVIA UNION Moravia, Iowa Thursday, May 6, 1937 DOYLE LUSE SUCCUMBS TO LONG ILLNESS Doyle Luse, 34, a lifelong resident of this vicinity, died at his home northeast of Moravia at an early hour last Thursday morning. Although he had not been well for several years, his death was quite sudden and a distinct shock to his many acquaintances and friends. Having lived in this community all of his life he had made many acquaintances and friends by whom he was well liked. These friends mourn his passing and extend sympathy to the bereaved family. Theodore Doyle Luse was born in Appanoose county, near Iconium, August 8, 1902 and passed away at his home, two and one-half miles northeast of Moravia, April 29, 1937, at the age of 34 years, 8 months and 21 days. He grew to manhood in the vicinity of Moravia. He attended Moravia high school and was a member of the basketball squad, earning his membership letter during his sophomore year. He was united in marriage to Lela Gretchen Hobart, May 20, 1922, and to this union two children were born: Billy Calvin, age 14 years, and Lela Mae, 11 years of age. He also leaves to mourn his departure his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Luse; one sister, Mrs. Richard Morrison, and one niece, Dorothy Louise Morrison. A sister, Ruby Mae, preceded him in death. Also surviving are his aged grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Luse, and numerous other relatives and friends. In early life he was stricken with rheumatism which later developed into organic heart disease. His last illness was of only a few hours duration. In his passing the family has lost a loving husband and a kind father. Doyle was of a quiet disposition, always ready and willing to help where he was needed. He will be greatly missed in his home and community. Funeral services were held from the Methodist Episcopal Church in Moravia, Saturday, May 1, at 1:30 p.m., Rev. Chas. L. Ellis officiating. Interment was in Hillcrest cemetery.
