Olson, 79, of Willow City, who died Monday, September 18, 1989, at his home, were held September 22 at First Lucheran Church of Willow City, Rev. Olson, 79, of Willow City, who died Monday, September 18, 1989, at his home, were held September 22 at First Lucheran Church of Willow City, Rev. Robert Kirchman officiated and burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Willow City. Theodore E. Olson was born July 9, 1910 near Willow City to Paul and Carrie (Swensgard) Olson. He was reared and educated in the Willow City area. He was baptized and confirmed in the First Lutheran Church at Willow City and was a life member of the church. He entered the Army February 19, 1941. Following his Army discharge May 11, 1942, he returned to his family farm where he lived and farmed until his retirement in 1976. He then moved to Rugby where he lived until July of this year (1989) when he moved into the Golden Willows Apartments of Willow City. The last few years of his life he had been spending the winter months in New Mexico. He was an avid musician and had constructed several violins throughout the years. He was a life member of First Lutheran Church and a member of the American Legion Lyle Rich Post in Willow City and served as a township supervisor for Wellington Township and was a director of the Farmers Union Oil Company, Willow City, for several years. He was a world traveler and had visited many nations, including those in Europe, Australia, China, Russia and countries in South America. He is survived by three brothers, Roy and Lloyd, Willow City and Clarence of Minot, three nieces and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Arline Getzlaff. Rev. Robert Kirchman officiated at the service. Janice Hanson was the organist. Casketbearers were Loys Larson, Erick Biberdorf, Arnold Anderson, Lyle Johnson, Orris Larson and David Larson Military honors were provided by the Willow City American Legion post.
