Frankfort, Kansas, Index Thursday, April 23, 1981 A former Frankfort businessman, Ted Glynn, died Tuesday morning, April 14, 1981 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Marysville, Kansas. He had been ill the past year, suffering from a brain tumor. He was born May 5, 1916 at Emmett, Kansas in Pottawatomie County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Glynn. He graduated from Emmett High School in Emmett, Kansas. Ted was associated with his father, Henry Glynn, who preceded him in death and his brother, Don Glynn, in the operation of Glynn's Grocery in Frankfort, Kansas for many years. He was very active in community work and had served as President of the Frankfort Community Care Home board and as head of the Frankfort Chamber of Commerce. Following a fire which destroyed the grocery store, Ted and Don rebuilt the store to one of the finest stores in this part of the state. They later sold the store and Ted worked at Downard's Grocery in Marysville, Kansas. He married Anna Marie Stevens on August 5, 1946. She died as the result of an automobile accident in 1976. His second marriage was to Helene Koppes, who survives. He served three and a half years with the U.S. Army during World War II, with his service in the South Pacific. Ted was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church; Kiwanis, Moose and Legion of the Moose and the American Legion. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Helene Glynn of the home; his mother Mrs. Henry Glynn, Frankfort, Kansas; two brothers, Don Glynn Frankfort, Kansas and Joe Glynn, Hiawatha, Kansas; two sisters, Patty Painter, Bethesda, Maryland and Sister Marie Glynn of Cincinnati, Ohio. Services were conducted Wednesday, April 15, 1981 at 7:00 p.m. at St Gregory's Catholic Church on Thursday morning April 16, 1981.
