Description	:	Theodore ‘Ted’ Nell, 80, died Friday, April 30, 2004 in Ellendale. Mr. Nell was born Nov. 6, 1923, in McPherson County, SD, the son of George and Theresa (Heinrich) Nell. He grew up and graduated from high school in Forbes, ND. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1942 to 1946, mainly in the Pacific Theater. He then farmed with his brother, Marvin, near Ellendale and drove truck for Louis Schmidt Trucking. On Oct. 14, 1951, he married Viola Entzmiger in Ellendale. Mr. Nell was born Nov. 6, 1923, in McPherson County, SD, the son of George and Theresa (Heinrich) Nell. He grew up and graduated from high school in Forbes, ND. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1942 to 1946, mainly in the Pacific Theater. He then farmed with his brother, Marvin, near Ellendale and drove truck for Louis Schmidt Trucking. On Oct. 14, 1951, he married Viola Entzmiger in Ellendale. He worked as a meat cutter at Houghton's Meat Market in Ellendale from 1952 to 1975. From 1976 to 1984, he worked in the service department at Brost Implement in Ellendale. In 1984, he returned to Houghton's Meat Market, where he worked until his retirement in 1993. He is survived by his wife; four sons, Ellis, Leadore, ID, Dwain (Susan), Box Elder, SD, Craig (Paula), Oakes, ND, Brent (Cindy), Ellendale; a brother, Marvin (Violet), East Helena, MT; a sister, Irene Mitchell, Forsyth, MT; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Military honors presented by American Legion Herman-Schlinker Post #137 of Ellendale. Burial: Ellendale City Cemetery.
