Linwood, Jan. 20 – Mrs. Frank Walla, highly esteemed resident of Linwood locality for 31 years, passed away on Monday, Jan. 12, after a brief illness of pneumonia. She was aged 75 years and three months. Mrs. Walla was born in Pizen, Czechoslovakia, October 15, 1855. She came to America with her parents in 1874, they settling in Saunders county, Nebraska. She was maried May 6, 1879, to Frank Walla, and they settled on a farm in Butler county, south of Linwood in 1880. To them seven children, five sons and two daughters, were born. They, with Mr. Walla, survive Mrs. Walla. The children are James, Torryngton, Wyo., Frank, Bee, Neb., Anton, Utica, S. Dak., Joseph and Emil of Linwood, Mrs. Victoria Staples of Arvada, Colo., and Mrs. Mary Sedlicky of Linwood. Mrs. Walla is also survived by 24 grandchhldren and one sister, Mrs. Joseph Bunda, of Linwood. All the children with the exception of Mrs. Victoria Staples, of Arvada, Colo., who was unable to come. Funeral services were held at St. Mary Catholic church, Linwood, at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 16, with Rev. Victor Mlejnek officiating. Singing was by the church choir. The pallbearers were Mrs. Walla's five sons and one grandson, Reynold Sedlicky. Interment was in the Linwood Hill cemetery. A large number of friends from Morse Bluff, David City, Bee and Bruno attended the funeral. Mrs. Walla will be remembered always by her many friends by her happy and cheerful disposition and her kindheartedness. __ Card of Thanks – We take this means of thanking our friends for the help and kind words of sympathy offered to us at the time of the death of our beloved wife and mother.
