Read More	Theresa Eleanor Williams, 91, died Sunday, March 25, in her home at Riverview Place, Fargo, ND, with her loved ones by her side. Theresa Eleanor Clements, granddaughter of pioneers, was born Nov. 13, 1909, in Wymore, Gage County, NE, the first daughter of Walter M. (Tommy) and Maria Theresa (McQuinn) Clements. Her family had come to Nebraska with the railroad in the middle part of the 19th century. Eleanor attended school in Wymore and, upon her graduation from high school, sought employment in Lincoln, NE. She worked first as a secretary for a pharmaceutical company, later for the home office of an insurance company, and finally for a group of local attorneys. In 1937 she married Wilbur Lyle "Bill" Williams, who worked for Miller & Paine, a department store in Lincoln. The couple had two daughters, Sarah Mary and Katherine Ann, and made their home in Lincoln until Bill's death in 1994. Eleanor left the workplace at her marriage and served as an active community volunteer while her children were young. Among numerous activities, she served as president of the Episcopal Church Women of the Diocese of Nebraska, as president of Sheridan School PTA, and on the boards of the Camp Fire Girls and American Field Service. She was a member of PEO, Chapter DL, in Lincoln and served as its president. In 1952, she returned to the workplace and was employed as a secretary for the Lincoln Public Schools, retiring in 1972 as an executive secretary in the office of the superintendent. In 1995, after her husband's death, Eleanor moved to Riverview Place in Fargo in order to be closer to her daughters. While living in Fargo, she was most active at Riverview Place where, among other things, she helped to organize and open the first Gift Closet. She was also a member of Gethsemane Episcopal Cathedral and of PLO, Chapter Y. Eleanor was a particularly competitive and enthusiastic Scrabble and Bingo player. She was an avid reader, with a childhood reputation of "always having her head in a book," and a whiz at crossword puzzles. She was an accomplished seamstress and had a lifelong interest in crafts, knitting and handwork. She was a knowledgeable and devoted fan of the University of Nebraska Huskers' football team. As a young woman she played coronet in an all-girl jazz band, the "Rinky Dinks," that toured small towns in eastern Nebraska. Though she died peacefully and with hope, she relished life and accomplished a great deal with hers. The many people who love her will miss her very much. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Sarah (Jim) Jacobson, Fargo, and Katherine (Bruce) Rhoades, Chippewa Falls, WI; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren who know her as "Little Grandma." She was the only surviving member of her family of origin. A Requiem Eucharist in celebration of her life was held Saturday, March 31, at 2 PM in Gethsemane Cathedral, Fargo Arrangements by Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo.
