With the shutdown of the Glass Factory in Furstenthal Ambrose was one of the first to answer the add for work and free land in Kansas U.S.A. Theresa arrived at Baltimore, Maryland on November 30, 1892 Aboard The Dresden.It was a tough trip as the family had their youngest child Martha died en route.Once arriving they headed to Kansas where they settled Hamilton, Ellis Co. Kansas. There Theresa was raised until she was married to John Kappel on September 22, 1908. She had twelve children and raised all of them on a country farm, except for Anton who only survived for one month after his birth in November 1911. Some Family members use Koppel as an alternate spelling but all records in Austria and U.S. show Kappel. I also have signatures of various family members using Kappel. My mother who is still with us uses Kappel and is the source of the information.
