Theresa Lachnit, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lachnit, was born in Austria on July 8, 1873 and departed this life, a life marked with deeds of kindness and cheer, on September 22, 1934 after attaining the age of 61 years, 2 months ad 14 days. She came to America with her parents at the age of six months and settled near Columbus where she grew to womanhood. In 1890 she was united in marriage to Joseph A. Kleve and to this union were born thirteen children, two dying in infancy and one son, Louis preceding her in death seven years ago. Those living to mourn her passing besides her husband are: William, Lawrence, Edwin and Marcellas of this place; Alfred of Wolbach; Walter of Bartlett; Joseph, Jr. of Kilgore; Sylvester of Albion; Frank of Holyoke, Colo. and one daughter, Mrs. John Rutten of this place. She also leaves three sisters, Miss Mary Lachnit of Columbus; Mrs. Peter Schmitz and Mrs. Peter Korth of this place; four brothers, Frank of Mitchell, So. Dak.; Louis of Columbus; Henry of Humphrey and John of this place besides 22 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Mrs. Kleve was a devoted wife and mother and was loved by all who knew her. Well may her husband and children cherish her memory as a precious legacy and we would fain say a word of comfort to the stricken ones, we can but let our tears flow in sympathy with theirs and point them to the promise "At eventide it shall be light." Those acting as pallbearers were Frank, Raymond and Edwin Schmitz, Richard and Arnold Korth and Leonard Lachnit, all of whom are nephews of the deceased. Honorary pallbearers were Mesdames Fred Batenhorst, Ralph Hughes, Joe Heithoff, Jake Rutten, Reinhart Faust and Barbara Dieter. ____ Many Attend Funeral of Mrs. Kleve. Those attending the funeral from out-of-town were Mr. and Mrs. B. J. German, Mrs. Victoria Wemhoff, Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Weiser, Mr. Frank German, Mrs. Kate Fehringer all of St. Marys; Mr. and Mrs. P. J. O'Brien of Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Brockhaus, Mr. and Mrs. Mat Brockhaus, Gus Widhelm, Henry Lachnit and daughter, Margaret, Mr. and Mrs. John Fuchs all of Humphrey; Mr. and Mrs. Killian Korth, William Korth, Mrs. Henry Loeffler all of Lindsay; Louis Lachnit, Louis Schroeder and son, Jerome, Wm.
