(Source: Texas, County Marriage Records) ================================================== The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, June 11th, 1964 Mrs. Theresa Margaret Kathman passed away last Wednesday evening at her home near Mt. Clare. She was 83 years of age and had been in poor health for several years. She was a native of Festina, Ia. Services were held at St. Stephens Catholic Church south of Lawrence on Saturday morning, June 6th, with the Rev. John Kelly officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Kathman is survived by five sons: Alfred and George of Bostwick, Eugene of Spokane, Wash., Edmund and William of Lawrence; four daughters: Mrs. Bernard Kline of Fremont, Miss Mary Kathman of Hastings, Mrs. Wm. King of Piru, Calif., and Miss Emma Kathman at home; 30 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and her brother and sister, Joseph Lutkenhaus and Mrs. Annie Kathman of Muenster, Texas. ================== Lawrence Locomotive (Lawrence, NE), Thursday, June 11th, 1964; pg. 1 Funeral Services for Mrs. Theresa Kathman Funeral services were held Saturday morning at St Stephens Catholic Church for Mrs. Theresa Kathman. Father John Kelley offered the Requiem High Mass and officiated at the burial services in St. Stephens cemetery. Pall bearers were Alphonse Brockman, Louis Rempe, Louis Kline, William Kline, David Kathman, and Dennis Kathman. Mrs. Theresa Kathman, nee Lutkenhaus, was born in Festina, Iowa on Nov. 24th, 1880, and passed away at the age of 83 on June 3rd at her home seven miles south of Lawrence. In 1893 the Lutkenhaus family moved to Muenster, Texas where she resided until 1907 when she was united in marriage to William H. Kathman. They located on a farm in the St. Stephens community where she spent the rest of her life. She had been a member of St. Stephens parish for over 56 years. She was a devoted Catholic and a loving mother. During the final years of her life, she had been in poor health and was cared for by her devoted children. Her husband proceeded her in death having passed away Jan. 6th, 1956. She is survived by her sons, Alfred, George, Edmund and William of Bostwick and Eugene of Spokane, Wash. Her daughters Mrs. Louise Kline of Fremont, Mary of Hastings, Mrs. Helen King of Piru, Calif. and Emma of Bostwick; also 30 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A brother, Joseph Lutkenhaus and a sister Mrs. Annie Kathman of Muenster, Texas. Relatives from a distance attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. W.G. Kathman, Mrs. Gus Lutkenhaus and Mrs. Oscar Detten of Muenster, Texas, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Kline and family of Fremont, Louis and William Kline of Denver, Colo., Mrs. W. King and sons of Peru, Calif., Mrs. Frances Kathman, Edward Kathman, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Kathman, Mrs. Marvin Oxley of Hastings, Mr. and Mrs. George Schramm of Omaha, Mrs. Don Quinn of Hastings, and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Rempe of Superior.
