Theresa Schneider, daughter of Casper and Josephine Schneider was born June 10, 1874 at Detroit, Michigan, where she received her education and grew to womanhood. As a young lady she came to Earling to be with her sister, Mrs. Bertha Stessman, already a resident here. She was united in marriage to Mr. Robert Koesters at St. Joseph’s church at Earling by Rev. Joseph Hummert, on September 23, 1903. They settled on a farm 4 miles northwest of Earling where they spent their entire married life until ten years ago when they retired to their present home in Earling. On September 23, 1953 they celebrated their golden wedding at St. Joseph’s church where they were married. This union was blessed with nine children, all of them residing in the local community. They are Mrs. Joe (Gabriella) Weis, Mrs. Leonard (Valeria) Erlbacher, Norbert, Antoinette “Nettie”, Richard, Frank, Louis, Arthur and Mrs. Leander “Jim” (Betty) Blum. She is also survived by 35 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters; namely, Rev. A.C. Schneider of Mt. Clements, Michigan, John Schneider of Detroit, Michigan and Mrs. Bertha Stessman and Mrs. Josephine Stinn both of Earling. She was a faithful member of the Altar Society and the Third Order of St. Francis. Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased, Al Stessman, Frank Stessman, Ray Stinn, Alfred Stinn, Fred Koesters and Tony Koesters. From The Harlan Tribune (Harlan, Iowa) – Friday 05 Aug 1955
