Description	:	Therese Dorothy (Walz) Dorenbach was born on January 25, 1934, to Lawrence R. and Dorothy Walz of Battle Creek, NE. She was named after St. Terese of Liseux and was soon given the nickname Trixie by her dad. She grew up on a farm with her sisters Mary Claire and Arla and younger brother Lawrence R. Jr. (Larry). She was a timid and shy child who worked inside with her mother, learning to cook and play piano. Read More	Therese Dorothy (Walz) Dorenbach was born on January 25, 1934, to Lawrence R. and Dorothy Walz of Battle Creek, NE. She was named after St. Terese of Liseux and was soon given the nickname Trixie by her dad. She grew up on a farm with her sisters Mary Claire and Arla and younger brother Lawrence R. Jr. (Larry). She was a timid and shy child who worked inside with her mother, learning to cook and play piano. She played the piano and organ for mass and school and her sisters, who enjoyed singing and playing together. She graduated from Battle Creek High School in 1951. She joined her sister at St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing and graduated a nurse in 1954. She worked as a nurse in Lincoln and then in Colorado Springs and Ann Arbor, Michigan. She made lifelong friends during her years nursing and enjoyed alumni reunions, vacationing to see old friends, and embracing travel of any kind. Trix was a devoted aunt and sister and loved her nieces and nephews up before she married and had her own children. While working at the St. E's she met Francis Dorenbach and they married in September of 1968. They shared an instant family with his three boys, Joe, Steve, and Kevin. Together they had two more children, Ann, and Tom, and infant son Paul who died in childbirth. Francis and Trix made their family home in Lincoln for the next 10 years. In 1980 they moved to Malcolm and enjoyed being involved with their kids' activities. Over the years they enjoyed fishing at their cabin, playing cards with friends, Nebraska football and traveling. Throughout her life, Trix suffered from severe anxiety and depression. Nevertheless, when she felt good, she had the most fun, was a dedicated and loyal friend and sincere caregiver. She had a strong Catholic faith and tradition. Daily prayer and practicing her faith, was central to her daily life. Over the past 12 years, Trix made her home in Assisted Living first at the Waterford and then at the Bickford for the past 9 years. She enjoyed shopping the sales, Bingo at the Bickford, Bridge, chocolate & popcorn, and watching the Hallmark channel. She was always a good sport, ready to celebrate any holiday hosting, taking pictures, and visiting family. Trix was an amazing grandma, devoted friend and is already missed by many. She is survived by her daughter Ann DeVries (Scott) of Lincoln, Tom Dorenbach (Meredeth), Wentsville, MO, Joe Dorenbach (Catherine) Lincoln, Steve Dorenbach (Cindy) Katy,TX and Kevin Dorenbach, Omaha. Sister: Arla Walz, Norfolk, NE. 15 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren. Trix was preceded in death by her parents: husband; brother, sister and brother-in-law.
