Description	:	Thilda R. Lee was the daughter of Lewis and Gertrude (Jostad) Lee. She grew to adulthood on her parents farm in the De Smet community. She attended the johnson rural country school. After her schooling, she worked in the De Smet community until her marriage. She was united in marriage to Albert Poppen on December 18, 1935 in Huron, South Dakota. They farmed in the De Smet area their entire married life together. Albert died on March 27, 1969. She continued living on the farm for a short time before moving into De... Read More	Thilda R. Lee was the daughter of Lewis and Gertrude (Jostad) Lee. She grew to adulthood on her parents farm in the De Smet community. She attended the johnson rural country school. After her schooling, she worked in the De Smet community until her marriage. She was united in marriage to Albert Poppen on December 18, 1935 in Huron, South Dakota. They farmed in the De Smet area their entire married life together. Albert died on March 27, 1969. She continued living on the farm for a short time before moving into De Smet. She lived in Sioux Falls for a couple of years and moved back to De Smet where she lived in her own home until the time of her death. Thilda was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a long-time member of the American Lutheran Church of De Smet. Among survvors grateful for sharing in her life are h er son and his wife, Clifford and Judy Poppen of De Smet; her two daughters, Geraldine stormo of hayti, South Dakota and Jean Fenderson and her husband, Doug, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a brother, Leonard Lee of De Smet. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother and a son-in-law
