Read More	Waterloo Evening Courier Friday 26 Sep 1924 Thomas M'Garvey Is Buried At Edgewood Manchester, Ia., Sept. 26. - Funeral services were held at St. Paul's church here Thursday afternoon for Thomas Arthur McGarvey, who died at his home in North Manchester on Tuesday after seven months' confinement to his bed, suffering intensely from goitre and heart disease. He was born near Edgewood, Aug. 26, 1876, the eldest son of Henry and Lolee McGarvey and grew to manhood in Edgewood. Seventeen years ago he came to Manchester and had lived here ever since, engaged in painting, especially the painting of automobiles. He was married Oct 7, 1907 to Miss Nellie Brady and two sons were born to them; Leonard, who is with his mother in California, and Paul, who is living with his uncle at Edgewood. Mr. McGarvey was married on March 15, 1922, to Mrs. Georgia Shaw, Colesburg. He is survived by his widow and stepchildren, Ardian, Hilda, and Lester Shaw; his mother, Mrs. Henry McGarvey, Dubuque; a brother, James, Hayden, Colo.; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Brown, San Francisco, Cal., and Mrs. Bert Frentress, Dubuque. Services were in charge of Rev. J. Frank Moore of the Congregational church and Mr. McGarvey was buried in the cemetery at Edgewood, beside his father.
