Description	:	Thomas Austin “Tommy” Glotfelty, Jr., 53, went to be with his LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ, on Friday, August 16, 2019, at his home. Born May 31, 1966, in Oakland, MD, he was the son of the late Thomas Austin and Barbara (Smith) Glotfelty. He was also preceded in death by his uncle, Dwight Glotfelty. Born May 31, 1966, in Oakland, MD, he was the son of the late Thomas Austin and Barbara (Smith) Glotfelty. He was also preceded in death by his uncle, Dwight Glotfelty. Tommy was cared for in his home for fifty years by his parents, and later in years by personal care staff. He loved to be free to roam around the house and on his beloved porch and porch swings. After some time in a nursing home, Tommy spent the last 21 months of his life in an Appalachian Crossroads residence, where his care staff learned to love and appreciate him for his gentle spirit and unique ways. He is survived by his sister, Rebecca Glotfelty; stepmother, Esther Glotfelty; an uncle, Cecil “Cotty” Glotfelty and wife, Alma, all of Oakland, MD; numerous cousins. Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Dr., Oakland, MD, 21550, on Sunday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Monday, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Services will be held in the funeral home chapel following visitation on Monday, August 19, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Marty Wilt officiating. Interment will be at Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
