Funeral services were held Friday, June 19, 2009, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Minden with The Rev. Donald Becker officiating. Burial was in the Minden Cemetery. Tom was born December 29, 1911, on a farm in Liberty Township, north of Minden, to Fredrick and Hulda (Spors) Latter. Tom was born December 29, 1911, on a farm in Liberty Township, north of Minden, to Fredrick and Hulda (Spors) Latter. He was baptized and con- firmed a life long member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Minden. Tom attended rural schools in Liberty Township and graduated from Minden High School in 1930. On December 16, 1934, he was united in marriage to Arlene M. Doyle at St. Paul Lutheran Parsonage in Minden. Together they started farming on the rented farm his parents had lived on for nearly fifty years. After ten years of working and learning how to farm, they purchased a small farm and moved there in 1945. Tom and Arlene raised their children on that farm. Tom retired in 1976, but continued to live there. Arlene died in 1999. Tom enjoyed life on the farm, playing cards and his family. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Minden. Survivors include one son, Thomas Eugene Latter and his wife Judy of Vancouver, WA; one daughter, Patricia Kay Mead and her husband Dave of Las Vegas, NV; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchil- dren; and one brother, Eugene Latter and his wife Georgenia of San Francisco, CA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene; and three brothers, Fred, Fay and George
