CHARLES ARMSTRONG KILLED While Dumping a Load of Corn at Fontanelle His Team ran Away Charles Armstrong who lives six miles north of Fontanelle, while unloading corn at Dunlap's elevator, his team ran away and he is run over and receives injuries from which he dies soon afterwards. Mr. Armstrong drove into the elevator of Mr. Dunlap about 11 o'clock in the forenoon on Friday. He was standing at the front of the wagon assisting in dumping it, with his back to the horses, when one of his horses kicked him with both feet striking about the middle of the body. The team then started to run and as the wagon was close to the elevator, the hub caught him in abdoman(sic)and crushed him against the building as the wagon passed out. The team he drove was a high spirited one, having run away the day before. He was injured so badly that it was not thought best to remove him to his home, so he was carried to the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Reed. Doctors were summoned and found his injuries of a serious nature. His wife was then sent for and arrived about 3 o'clock in the afternoon, but in spite of all that could be done he died at 10:30 the same night, only regaining consciousness a short time before he expired. He leaves a widow and six children to mourn the loss of a loving husband and kind father. He had recently purchased the farm he was living on and had made partial payment for it, which will be looked after by a brother of Mrs. Armstrong, who will have it properly transferred to her. The funeral services took place on Sunday morning, conducted by Rev. Martin, of Bridgewater, after which the remains were taken to the Fontanelle cemetry(sic) followed by a large concourse of heartbroken relatives and sympthizing(sic) friends. Wife's name was Irene.
