He is survived by his widow, Annie, three sons James, Thomas and John Ahern, and two daughters, Catherine and Clare Ahern. He and Annie were married in Livingston, Montana on January 24, 1884. They were the first couple married in the Catholic church in Livingston with Fr. Barslow officiating. Mr Ahern was a carriage maker by trade as well as a rancher in Meagher County.
